This film is part of the series SHOW ME: Season 5 Largely overlooked by history, this documentary introduces audiences to Pauli Murray, a pioneering lawyer, activist, writer, and priest, whose landmark ideas around gender and racial equality would go on to shape both Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Thurgood Marshall. Told largely through their own writings alongside interviews with activists, academics, and legal scholars of today, My Name is Pauli Murray traces both the contours of Murray’s career and offers a nuanced examination of their gender identity and private life. This screening will be followed by a community conversation led by Race Matters, Friends exploring topics such as race and gender discrimination and the law, the legal basis for universal rights, and intersectionality. Please note that FREE tickets for the public will be available at the Ragtag Box Office starting Thursday, June 25 at 12PM. No more than two free tickets will be given to one person. A free ticket guarantees you a seat until 10 minutes before showtime and not after. If all tickets have been distributed and there are open seats at 10 till, we will start seating the theater from the waiting list (queue). Ticket holders will continue to be admitted at this time if seats are available. This policy allows us to start on time and give the audience a distraction-free experience. Presented By
